Network and IT security engineers

This program is a pragmatic IT education specifically designed to equip students with the skills required to combine hacking and cybercrime. The urgent demand for IT security expertise creates excellent career opportunities for those who possess this expertise.
The Education
The increasing dependence on digital technology in today’s society has led to a growing demand for competence in network and IT security. This competence is crucial for organizations to protect themselves against future cyberattacks and mitigate the effects of potential breaches.
The educational program prioritizes great emphasis on fundamental security practices, including risk assessment and vulnerability analysis. The overarching goal is to develop independent security administrators capable of implementing effective security measures and conducting comprehensive IT security investigations. An important aspect of the program is to develop an understanding of software architecture and monitoring network traffic in security-related contexts.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will have the skills to participate in a range of tasks from the installation, operation, and optimization of servers and clients to the progressive development of an organization’s ICT systems. They will also be able to offer guidance, support, and advice in ICT security.

The Difference of Studying at Noroff through Nackademin
When you study a program at Noroff through Nackademin, you combine the best of two worlds: an international, high-quality Norwegian education and a Swedish support team that’s with you every step of the way.
The teaching takes place entirely online via Noroff’s platforms, with their instructors and course materials. At the same time, you receive guidance from Nackademin regarding your application, CSN (Swedish student finance), and connections to the Swedish job market. Simple, reliable – and approved by CSN.
CSN and Payment – What You Need to Know
Noroff’s programs have tuition fees, and you will need to apply for both study grants and loans from CSN – including the loan for the tuition fee.
Important to keep in mind:
-
CSN does not pay Noroff directly. You will receive the funds yourself and are responsible for paying the tuition fee to the school.
-
Since Noroff is a foreign institution, this is classified as studies abroad.
Tip! Contact CSN early to check what applies to your specific situation – preferably before accepting your place of study.
Studying at a Foreign School – How It Works
When you study through Noroff, you are formally enrolled at a foreign education provider. This means a few practical differences:
-
CSN: You apply for student aid for studies abroad.
-
Grades: You will receive Norwegian grades/diplomas upon graduation.
-
Payment: You are responsible for paying the tuition fee directly to Noroff.
-
Support: Nackademin serves as your Swedish point of contact for guidance and practical matters.
Course Content and Educational Level
Noroff’s programs are at a post-secondary level and are designed in close collaboration with industry. They include both theoretical studies and practical projects with a clear progression.
Upon graduation, you will receive a diploma from Noroff, which is equivalent to a qualified vocational education. This makes you attractive on both the Swedish and international job markets.
English – What’s Required?
Since the instruction is entirely in English, it’s important that you feel comfortable with:
-
Reading course materials and instructions in English
-
Writing assignments, reports, and projects in English
-
Communicating with teachers and fellow students in English
You don’t need to be completely fluent – but a solid foundation in English is essential to benefit from the program.
