Vocational Swedish at Nackademin
At Nackademin, we aim to ensure that everyone requiring special educational support receives effective and personalized assistance. To achieve this, we have a full-time staff member dedicated to providing educational support and vocational Swedish. Educational support can take various forms, the focus is mainly about supporting the learning process for each individual student and should be linked to educational support measures.
The main purpose is for you as a student to receive help to become as independent and successful as possible in your studies. Even though course objectives and criteria for passing exams are the same for all students, the path to achieving them may vary.
The support provided is individually tailored and may include various forms of educational support or vocational Swedish, ranging from assistance with study techniques to note-taking support, recorded literature, or support in industry-specific language. For support not related to educational support, we refer to general healthcare.
Who can apply for special educational support and vocational Swedish at Nackademin?
If you are admitted to any of our programs and have a lasting disability or other challenges that can be substantiated with a medical certificate, you may be eligible for special educational support measures. You may also be eligible for support if you have previously received special educational support measures.
Vocational Swedish can be offered to students who do not have Swedish as their native language and who need support in industry-specific language. Vocational Swedish is not intended to provide knowledge of general Swedish but is solely a support to practice skills related to your future professional role. How do I apply for special educational support?
If you know that you need to apply for educational support, you should do so as soon as you are admitted to the program through our application link. Once the application is received, it will be processed by our department for educational support, which will provide further information. You may need to have a sit down with the responsible person for educational support to discuss your needs. Otherwise, support measures will be implemented as soon as possible. Please note that processing time can take between 2-6 weeks, therefore it is important to apply for support as soon as possible so that we can provide you with the help you need before the start of your studies.
If I indicate that I need support during the admission process, will it affect my application to the program?
No, indicating support needs will not affect your application or place in the program.
Who will know that I receive educational support?
People involved in educational support will be informed to ensure that you as a student have the right conditions for your studies. Your program manager will be informed about the support measures that have been decided but not the reason for the support needed. Certificates and sensitive personal data are handled in accordance with current GDPR legislation.
